Marine Generators Depot ships marine generators, replacement parts, service components, and installation accessories to customers in the United States and internationally. Because our products range from small service parts to large freight-class generator sets, shipping methods, handling times, costs, and delivery requirements vary by product and destination.
Our goal is to provide customers with accurate shipping information before an order is confirmed. Where a product requires a freight quotation or special shipping arrangement, the applicable shipping cost and estimated delivery schedule will be provided before payment or final order acceptance.
1. Order Processing and Handling
Orders are processed after payment has been successfully received or otherwise approved under the applicable sales agreement.
Handling time means the period between order confirmation and the shipment being released to the carrier. Handling time may vary depending on:
- Product availability
- Generator configuration
- Warehouse or supplier location
- Inspection or preparation requirements
- Special-order status
- Export documentation
- Freight arrangements
- Destination
Where a specific handling time applies, it will be displayed on the product page, at checkout, in the quotation, or in the order confirmation.
The handling and delivery estimates shown for a specific order take precedence over any general information on this page.
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding applicable public holidays.
2. Shipping Methods
The shipping method used depends on the size, weight, value, and destination of the products ordered.
Parts and Smaller Accessories
Filters, service kits, impellers, belts, sensors, electrical components, and other smaller parts may be shipped using standard or expedited parcel services where available.
Available delivery services and charges will be shown at checkout or included in the quotation.
Marine Generators and Large Components
Marine generators and larger components normally require palletized or crated freight transportation.
Depending on the product and destination, shipping may be arranged by:
- Less-than-truckload (LTL) freight
- Full truckload
- Dedicated freight
- Air freight
- Ocean freight
- Freight forwarder
- Other suitable commercial transportation
The appropriate freight method will be determined according to the shipment dimensions, weight, value, destination, and customer requirements.
3. Shipping Costs
Shipping is not automatically free unless a product page, promotion, checkout, or written quotation specifically states that free shipping applies.
Shipping charges may be:
- Calculated at checkout;
- Shown on the applicable product page;
- Quoted separately for freight products; or
- Included in a written sales quotation.
For generator sets and other freight-class products, the freight charge may depend on the final packed dimensions, shipment weight, delivery location, required service level, and destination access.
Where a shipping quotation is required, the customer will be informed of the applicable charge before the order is finalized.
Marine Generators Depot does not intentionally add undisclosed shipping or handling charges after an order has been accepted. Additional carrier charges resulting from customer-requested changes, incorrect delivery information, redelivery, storage, special access, or services not included in the original shipment may be charged separately where applicable.
4. Delivery Estimates
Estimated delivery time consists of:
Handling Time + Carrier Transit Time
Delivery estimates begin after the order has been processed and released for shipment, not necessarily on the date the order was originally submitted.
The estimated handling and transit times applicable to a particular product or order will be shown on the product page, at checkout, in the quotation, or in the order confirmation where available.
Delivery dates are estimates unless Marine Generators Depot expressly confirms a guaranteed delivery service in writing.
Carrier delays, weather, customs inspections, port congestion, transportation disruptions, remote-location delivery, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control may affect delivery times.
If your order is required for a scheduled vessel launch, repower, shipyard period, or other time-sensitive project, please inform us before placing the order so that available shipping options can be reviewed.
5. Product Availability and Shipping Location
Marine Generators Depot sources products through a network of manufacturers, distributors, warehouses, and marine-industry suppliers.
As a result, products may not always ship from the same location.
Depending on inventory and configuration, an order may be dispatched from:
- Marine Generators Depot;
- A manufacturer;
- An authorized distribution location;
- A supplier warehouse; or
- Another approved fulfillment location.
Where multiple products in the same order are held at different locations, the order may be shipped in more than one consignment.
A split shipment does not change the products ordered or the total shipping charge already agreed unless the customer requests a different shipping arrangement.
6. Freight Delivery Requirements
Marine generators are heavy products and may require specialized receiving arrangements.
Before placing a freight order, customers should confirm whether the delivery location has:
- A commercial loading dock
- Forklift access
- Crane or lifting facilities
- Suitable unloading equipment
- Adequate vehicle access
- Personnel available to receive the shipment
Standard freight delivery does not automatically include unloading, inside delivery, installation, crane service, or movement of the generator into a vessel, workshop, or building.
Liftgate Service
If a forklift or loading dock is not available, liftgate service may be required where the shipment size and carrier permit it.
Liftgate service must be requested before shipment and may involve an additional charge.
Residential Delivery
Residential freight delivery may require additional carrier services and charges.
Customers should disclose that a destination is residential when requesting a freight quotation.
Limited-Access Locations
Shipyards, marinas, military facilities, construction sites, farms, islands, ports, remote areas, and certain commercial locations may be classified by carriers as limited-access destinations.
Additional charges may apply.
Please provide accurate information about the delivery location when requesting your quotation.
7. Delivery Appointments
Freight carriers may contact the consignee to arrange a delivery appointment.
Customers are responsible for providing a valid telephone number and ensuring that an authorized person is available to receive the shipment during the scheduled delivery period.
If a carrier is unable to complete delivery because no one is available, the location cannot accept the shipment, or suitable unloading arrangements have not been made, redelivery or storage charges may apply.
8. Inspection at Delivery
Customers receiving a generator or freight shipment should inspect the shipment before signing the carrier’s delivery receipt whenever reasonably possible.
Check for:
- Crushed or torn packaging
- Broken pallet or crate
- Punctures
- Visible impact damage
- Missing items
- Loose or displaced components
- Signs the shipment may have been tipped or mishandled
If damage or shortage is visible:
- Photograph the shipment before removing the packaging.
- Clearly note the damage or shortage on the carrier’s delivery receipt.
- Retain the packaging and shipping materials.
- Contact Marine Generators Depot promptly.
Signing a carrier receipt without noting obvious visible damage can make a freight claim more difficult to establish.
9. Concealed Shipping Damage
Some shipping damage may not be visible until the generator or component has been unpacked.
Customers should inspect freight shipments promptly after delivery.
If concealed damage is discovered, please notify Marine Generators Depot as soon as possible and preferably within two business days of discovery, together with:
- Order or invoice number
- Photographs of the packaging
- Photographs of the damaged product
- Photograph of the shipping label
- Description of the damage
- Copy of the delivery receipt where available
Please retain the original packaging until we advise that it may be discarded.
Carrier claim deadlines can vary, so prompt reporting is important.
10. Incorrect, Missing, or Incomplete Shipments
If you receive:
- The wrong product
- An incorrect quantity
- A shipment with missing components
- A package intended for another customer
please contact Marine Generators Depot promptly.
Do not install or use an incorrectly supplied product unless we confirm that you should do so.
Where the issue is confirmed to be a fulfillment error, we will advise you of the appropriate corrective process.
Returns resulting from customer ordering errors are handled separately under our Returns and Refund Policy.
11. Shipping Address Accuracy
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.
Please verify:
- Recipient or company name
- Street address
- Unit or suite number
- City
- State/province
- Postal or ZIP code
- Country
- Telephone number
- Delivery-contact information
Marine Generators Depot is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete or incorrect information supplied by the customer.
If an address change is requested after the shipment has been released, carrier rerouting or reconsignment charges may apply.
12. Order Tracking
Tracking information will be provided where the carrier or shipping service makes tracking available.
Parcel tracking may show detailed shipment progress.
Freight tracking can differ by carrier and may require a bill of lading, PRO number, container number, or other shipment reference.
For international ocean or consolidated freight, tracking updates may be less frequent than parcel-shipping updates.
13. United States Shipping
We support delivery throughout the United States, subject to product availability and transportation coverage.
Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, islands, and remote locations may require a separate quotation and longer transit time than delivery within the contiguous United States.
Additional freight, forwarding, or handling charges may apply to these destinations.
14. International Shipping
Marine Generators Depot accepts international enquiries and can arrange international shipping for eligible products and destinations.
International shipments may be arranged by:
- Air freight
- Ocean freight
- International parcel service
- Freight forwarder
- Customer-nominated carrier
The shipping method and commercial terms will be identified in the applicable quotation or order confirmation.
Where an Incoterm or other agreed delivery term is stated in a written quotation or sales agreement, that term governs the applicable responsibilities for that shipment.
15. Customs Duties, Taxes, and Import Charges
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the quotation or sales agreement, international shipping charges do not include destination-country import duties, VAT, GST, customs taxes, brokerage charges, customs clearance fees, port charges, storage, demurrage, or other government or destination-related charges.
The customer is responsible for these amounts when applicable.
Customers should consult their local customs authority, customs broker, or freight forwarder if they require an estimate of import costs before placing an order.
Marine Generators Depot cannot control customs assessments imposed by foreign authorities.
16. Customs Documentation
For international shipments, Marine Generators Depot will provide the normal commercial documentation associated with the sale where applicable.
Depending on the shipment and destination, additional documents, certificates, permits, declarations, or inspections may be required.
Customers are responsible for advising us before shipment if their country, vessel project, customs authority, or freight forwarder requires special documentation beyond the documents ordinarily provided with the order.
Additional document or certification charges may apply where specialized documentation is requested.
17. Freight Forwarders
Customers may choose to have an order delivered to their own freight forwarder.
Where a freight forwarder is used, please provide:
- Forwarder’s full company name
- Delivery address
- Contact person
- Telephone number
- Customer reference or account number
- Any receiving instructions required by the forwarder
Delivery to a customer-nominated freight forwarder constitutes delivery to the customer’s nominated receiving location for that stage of transportation.
Any onward freight arranged independently by the customer is outside Marine Generators Depot’s control unless we have expressly agreed in writing to manage that transportation.
18. Customer-Arranged Shipping
Customers may request to use their own carrier or shipping account.
Such arrangements must be approved before the order is released.
Where the customer independently contracts the carrier, responsibility for transportation charges and carrier instructions will be determined by the agreed shipping arrangement.
19. Shipping Insurance
Insurance availability depends on the shipping method, carrier, value, destination, and terms of the order.
Where marine cargo or freight insurance is included, it will be identified in the quotation or sales documentation.
Customers requiring specific insurance coverage should request it before shipment.
Do not assume that every shipment automatically includes insurance covering the full replacement value of the goods.
20. Delays Outside Our Control
Marine Generators Depot will make reasonable efforts to ship orders according to the estimated schedule provided.
However, delivery may be affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather
- Natural disasters
- Carrier disruption
- Port congestion
- Customs delays
- Labor actions
- Transportation shortages
- Government restrictions
- Supply-chain disruptions
- Manufacturer delays
- Security events
- Other unforeseen transportation events
Where we become aware of a material delay affecting an order, we will make reasonable efforts to provide updated information.
21. Installation Is Not Included With Shipping
Delivery of a generator does not include installation, commissioning, wiring, plumbing, exhaust installation, crane service, vessel modification, or removal of an existing generator unless those services are expressly included in a written quotation.
Customers should arrange appropriate technical and lifting resources before delivery where necessary.
22. Shipping and Product Warranty
Transportation damage and manufacturing defects are handled differently.
Damage caused during shipping should be reported under this Shipping Policy.
A suspected manufacturing defect arising after delivery should be handled under our Warranty Policy and the applicable manufacturer’s warranty.
Please do not describe freight damage as a warranty failure when contacting us, as this may delay the appropriate claim process.
23. Returns Are Governed Separately
This Shipping Policy explains the transportation and delivery of orders.
Product returns, cancellations, restocking charges, return freight, and refunds are governed by our separate Returns and Refund Policy.
24. Changes to This Shipping Policy
Marine Generators Depot may update this Shipping Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our shipping operations, carrier services, legal requirements, or business practices.
The version published on our website at the time of purchase will apply together with any shipping terms specifically stated in the customer’s quotation, invoice, or order confirmation.
